Johnson Livestock » family operated farm

Brielle and Desta had a great day at their Candiac 4H Achievement Day.  A big thanks to Kayla Englot for leading this group and all the help she provided along the way.  The day started off with judging and both girls took first in their classes.  Moving onto grooming, both girls also took first.  In the heifers class, competing against each other, Brielle took first first and Desta took second and then moved on to where Brielle took Grand Champion overall female and Desta Reserve Champion overall female.  A big thank you to all the sponsors who helped make this possible.  The girls are looking forward to heading to the Canadian Juniors this week and then after that, another year of 4H!

A few video clips that Laurie put together around the farm on Father’s Day weekend.  Hope all the Dad’s out there had a great Father’s Day.

We began cutting our first cut of silage this week, very average crop this time but with the rains we’ve had recently, we hope to get a good second cut. We will post a few photos over the coming days.

Seeding is now all finished here at JL and just waiting for a rain now. The pastures are looking really good and we have moved all the cattle out there now. It’s one of our favourite times of the year. We captured a few bits of video as we toured around, checking on progress.

We decided to do something a little different & incorporate some video coverage of sale day.  For those of you who weren’t able to make it out on sale day, here is a small peek at some of the behind the scenes.  Thank you Brooklyn for an awesome job of the video…. we look forward to working with you on more video projects ahead!
